Filipino Pride. Kalingaw Dancers of  Special Program in the Arts show diversity of  Filipino culture and values in the celebration of Buwan ng Wika.

Nationalism. Pride. Dignity.

These were the values that invigorated the spirit of General Santos City High School to hold the annual celebration of “ Buwan ng Wika “ at the school’s Taiwan Hall on September 1,2011

With the theme “Filpino ang Wikang Panlahat, Ilaw at Lakas sa Tuwid na Landas”, the program proceeded through various presentation such as role play, speech choir, debate through poetry and folk dances. All of these signified the essence of the Filipino Language as a contributing factor for national success and as an instrument towards better understanding.

By the collaborative efforts of Ma’am Fedila Bagtindon, the Department Head of Filipino and the rest of the Filipino teachers, the program was able to push through succesfully. The colorful display of banderitas and the simple representation of an ethnic attire added into the warmth of the overwhelming atmosphere in the hall.

The program ended with a positive remarks from the school principal Mr. Angelito C. Llanos as he quoted “This year’s celebration best symbolizes the real meaning of embracing our own national language, “Mabuhay ang lahing Pinoy, Mabuhay ang wikang Filpino.”
